On October 26th (Thur.), SIED held “Wagashi KITCHEN Dorayaki” at the International Community Lounge on Imadegawa campus and we welcomed 13 participants including eight international students.
To start off the event, SIED staff introduced the way to make sweet bean paste and the Japanese Anime culture with some quizzes.
Following the talk, we divided the students into groups; in each group, they cooperated together and cooked Dorayaki skins. With the leftover dorayaki dough, the participants enjoyed making dorayaki in various shapes such as heart and clover. Some even made one huge dorayaki.
The fresh hot dorayaki was very fluffy, and the sweet bean paste was a perfect match. The students all enjoyed a nice break from their busy life and had just as sweet time.
SIED plans to host “Wagashi KITCHEN” in December. We look forward to seeing you all then!
