Report: “Let's carve a stone and make an original stamp!” (presented by SIED)

Updated Jun. 14, 2023
Hello, we are SIED!

We held a SIED event “Let's carve a stone and make an original stamp!” on June 7th (Wed.) at International Community Lounge (Shigyokan 1F Kyotanabe campus)! 3 international students and 4 local students participated in this event!

At the beginning of the event, students drew the design of the stamp they wanted to carve on a piece of white paper, then used the tracing paper to copy the draft onto the surface of the stone which was sanded with sandpaper. After copying the design onto the stone, they carefully carved the design with a carving knife. All of participants' stamp designs were full of individuality and wonderful patterns, including kanji characters for their own names and illustrations of animals. It was a very fun event, with participants sometimes focusing on making stamps and at other times enjoying conversation with other participants.

In a survey conducted after the event, we received feedback from all participants that they were satisfied with this event! Also, some of them got interested in other SIED events during this event and immediately applied.

We are very happy to see the great original stamps of all participants!
SIED will hold many events you can interact internationally and make wonderful meetings.
We are looking forward to your participation!
