Hello, this is SIED.

On October 24th (Thu.), we held an event titled "Let's make Kkultarae!" with a total of 17 participants: 13 international students and 4 local students.

At this event, we made "kkultarae," one of the famous sweets in Korea. The participants melted Hi-Chew in the microwave and quickly stretched it into thin threads before it hardened. It seemed challenging to stretch it perfectly before it set, but everyone enjoyed the process. In the final step, the stretched Hi-Chew was mixed with honey, and crushed nuts were sprinkled on top to complete the treat. Many of the participants loved sweets, and they fully enjoyed the taste of the kkultarae they made themselves.

While making kkultarae, some people also talked about K-pop and other aspects of Korean culture. It seems that everyone enjoyed both the conversation and the international exchange, and the SIED staff is very happy to have been a part of it.

SIED will continue to organize various international exchange events in the future.
