Hello, we are SIED, 

 

On November 21st (Fri.), SIED hosted an event, ”Let’s make Nenju!” at the International Community Lounge on Imadegawa Campus. 1 international student and 2 local students, 3 students in total, participated in this event.  

In this event, participants learned about the “prayer cultures” found around the world while experiencing how to make Buddhist prayer beads. We invited a specialist as our instructor, who explained the meaning behind the beads and guided everyone carefully through each step of the process. 

Although threading the beads onto the string was quite challenging, participants supported one another as they worked. By the end of the event, everyone successfully completed their own beautiful set of prayer beads. 

 

We hope all participants had a wonderful experience through our event. We will host many other international exchange events throughout the year!
