Spotlights

The Clover Festival was held over two days, on November 2nd (Saturday) and 3rd (Sunday), and during the event, Kyotanabe SIED hosted the activities "Creating Crafts from Around the World" and "Let’s Interact with International Students!" (for a limited time) in the International Exchange Lounge.

In the "Creating Crafts from Around the World" activity, participants had the chance to experience making paper lanterns with origami, crafting dream catchers, creating traditional Korean knots, and painting Kokeshi dolls. Many people, from young children to adults, enjoyed creating these crafts inspired by Japan and other parts of the world.

The "Let’s Interact with International Students!" activity was held five times over the two days. International students from Russia, France, India, Malaysia, and Finland introduced their countries in English or Japanese, with interpretation provided by SIED staff. The personal stories of these students about their countries' history and culture were very fascinating, especially for high school students and adults who listened attentively. After the presentations, participants and international students enjoyed chatting together about topics like culture, travel, and language learning.
