Hi everyone, it’s SIED! 

  

On Friday, July 5, we held an event “Let’s make a kokeshi!” with a total of 4 participants, 1 international student and 3 local students. In this event, we learned about the history of traditional Japanese wooden doll, kokeshi, and painted them! 

Our staff team first explained the origins of kokeshi doll, participants also learned that in modern times, there are many types of kokeshis, and lately they are widely painted as anime characters. Many of our participants had also painted them as anime characters! During the event, we were chatting in many languages creating a friendly atmosphere, then we completed many wonderful kokeshi dolls that showed off our individuality. Finally, we ended the event joyfully and everyone was complimenting at each other’s doll til the end.
