Spotlights

Hello! We are SIED. 

On Wednesday, November 12th, we held the SIED event “Create Your Own Unique Hahoe Mask!” at the Imadegawa International Community Lounge, with a total of eight participants—five international students and three local students. 

During the event, we introduced the history and meaning of the traditional Korean Hahoe Mask. Participants then created their own original masks, each expressing their individuality. After learning about the historical background of the Hahoe Masks, everyone selected their favorite colors and designed a mask that truly reflected their personality. It was a valuable opportunity to deepen our understanding of Korean history and tradition. At the end of the event, we wore the masks and took a group photo together.  

We were delighted to hear participants say that they would like to join future events as well. 

 

SIED will continue to organize various international exchange events in the future!
