Hello, we are SIED! 

On May 13th (Wed), SIED hosted a “Kyotanabe Campus Walk & Talk!” event around Kyotanabe Campus.
A total of 12 students participated in the event, including 3 international students and 9 local students. 

In this event, participants deepened their friendships while taking a walk around the Kyotanabe Campus area. The event started with a group photo in front of the lawn area, and participants then visited several places around campus, including the Emperor’s Tomb, Hikari-kan Building, the area near the Co-op convenience store, Chishinkan Building No.3, and the Historical Museum. 

Although the weather forecast suddenly changed to rain and thunderstorms right before the event, all participants enjoyed the event enthusiastically until the end. Taking a group photo at the beginning of the event also helped participants relax and communicate more naturally with each other. 

During the walk, participants actively talked about their hometowns, hobbies, and university life. Even students who came with friends were able to interact with new people they met during the event. International and local students also communicated with each other using both English and Japanese, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the event. 

Because it looked like it might start raining, the group returned to the lounge a little earlier than planned. However, participants continued talking and interacting freely in the lounge until the scheduled end time of the event. Some participants were even seen exchanging contact information, making the event a meaningful opportunity for intercultural communication. 

SIED will continue planning enjoyable intercultural events for both international and local students. We look forward to seeing you at our future events!
