Hello, we are SIED. 

On December 22nd (Mon.), SIED hosted a cultural exchange event, “Let’s Make Chinese Knots on the Winter Solstice!!” at the International Community Lounge on Imadegawa Campus.
A total of 19 students participated, including 9 international students and 10 local students. 

At the beginning of the event, we introduced the history and characteristics of Chinese knotting, helping participants deepen their understanding of this traditional craft.
During the workshop, many participants found the process challenging and felt confused at first. However, by working together in groups, supporting one another, and sharing tips, each group was able to complete their own unique Chinese knots. 

In addition, explanations about traditional Chinese intangible cultural heritage and an ice-breaking session, where participants shared their knowledge of Chinese culture, helped create opportunities for interaction and cross-cultural exchange. 

SIED will continue to organize various international exchange events in the future.
