Report: “Let's try Zazen!” (Presented by SIED)
Jul.11,2024 Update
Hello, we are SIED!
On Saturday, June 22, we held an event “Let’s try Zazen!” with a total of 5 participants, 2 international students and 3 local students!
In this event, SIED staff gave a lecture on knowledge about zazen, including what it is and how to do it. After that we moved to Shorinji-temple together. While we were walking, participants got along each other.
The participants were then enlightened for two 15-minute sessions. The monk also used a keisaku (a Japanese Zen meditation stick) to help them get rid of any distractions. After the experience, participants felt refreshed in body and mind, and had numbness in their legs, but at the same time, they looked refreshed. It was a rare and precious experience.

Thank you for coming to this event all participants.
SIED is planning various international exchange events in the future.
We are looking forward to your participation.
