Hello, we are SIED!

On May 29th (Wed.), SIED hosted an event, “Let’s make an original calligraphy fan!” at International Community Lounge on Imadegawa campus.

10 International students and 3 local students, 13 students total participated in this event!

At this event, participants created their own original fans through the traditional Japanese art of calligraphy.
We started by enjoying the history of calligraphy and fans through quiz, learning details such as posture and how to hold the brush.
Each participant had fun writing their favorite Japanese words or characters.
Even participants who touched a brush for the first time or challenged calligraphy for the first time struggled to use the brush well but managed to complete their own works.
Throughout the event participants were praising each other's works and creating a fun atmosphere from start to finish.

SIED will hold various types of international exchange events.
