Report: “Arashiyama Walk” (Presented by SIED)
Jun.12,2026 Update
Hello, this is SIED!
On Sunday, May 31, we held an international exchange event, “Arashiyama Walk”, in Arashiyama.
In this event, international students and Japanese students walked around Arashiyama together while enjoying the beautiful natural scenery of Kyoto and learning about its historical cultural heritage. Surrounded by the fresh greenery of early summer, the participants enjoyed conversations, took photos, and explored the Arashiyama area together.
We also visited Tenryu-ji Temple, a World Cultural Heritage Site, where participants learned about its garden, architecture, and cultural properties. Through visiting the site, students had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Kyoto’s history and Japanese culture, which they may not usually encounter in their daily student life.
During the walk, many participants were seen talking about their cultures, student lives, and experiences of living in Kyoto. In the relaxing atmosphere of Arashiyama, the participants were able to interact naturally and deepen their friendship beyond differences in language and culture.
Thank you very much to everyone who joined this SIED event, whether it was your first time participating or you have joined us many times before!
SIED will continue to hold various international exchange events in the future. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!
