Report: “Let's make a bookmark with pressed flowers!” (Presented by SIED)

Hello, we are SIED!
On October 29th (Wed.) we held the SIED event “Let's make a bookmark with pressed flowers!” at the Kyotanabe International Community Lounge, with a total of 9 participants—7 international students and 2 local students!
In this event, each participant carefully created their own unique bookmark using colorful pressed flowers, expressing their individual sense of design.
Before making the bookmarks, we first introduced the participants to the connection between pressed flowers, bookmarks, and Japanese aesthetics and culture.
During breaks in the crafting, participants introduced themselves to each other using self-introduction cards, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Many interactions between local and international students were observed, making it a truly international experience.
We received feedback like “It was so much fun!”, making it a wonderful event where participants felt the joy of connection and creativity.
We will host many other intercultural events throughout the year, so don’t miss it!
