Hi, it’s SIED!


On November 20, we held the event “Let’s Enjoy the Autumn Leaves at Yakushiji and Toshodaiji!” with five international and local students joining us. We were blessed with wonderful weather that made it a perfect day for a scenic walk. Beginning by introducing ourselves, sharing our faculties and home countries, this became a great opportunity for everyone to get to know one another. 

After that, we started our walk at the first location, Yakushiji Temple, which is known for its history that brings to life the hopes and devotion of people throughout the ages. Passing through the beautiful autumn foliage unique to this season, we arrived at our second destination, Toshodaiji Temple. Toshodaiji is famous for its Nara-period national treasures, moreover some of the international students mentioned how much they enjoyed learning about the history of Toshodaiji too! We then headed back while taking in the natural beauty of Nara. Throughout the walk, conversations among participants flowed naturally, and we were able to spend a very enjoyable time together. 

SIED will continue to host many events where everyone can engage in international exchange with peace of mind, and where wonderful encounters and connections can be made. We look forward to your participation! ♪
