Report: “You can be a science communicater!” (presented by SIED)

Hello! We are SIED!
On December 12th(Tue.), SIED hosted an event called "You can be a Science Communicator" at International Community Lounge on Kyotanabe campus. The event was attended by 8 participants, including 1 international student, 5local students, and 2 SIED staff members. Professor Masataka Watanabe of Faculty of Life and Medical Sciences as a guest speaker and Ms. Hiromi Takao, workshop-related company representative also joined the event.

The event began with a short lecture from Professor Watanabe, during which he discussed what science events are and the importance of science communication. Following the lecture, the participants discussed organizing a science event and what kind of event it should be. In this discussion, the group agreed that it is essential to set clear goals to manage an event successfully while listening to various opinions of other participants. All participants looked interested in learning more about science communication.
