SIED held "Scavenger Hunt in Kyoto Botanical Gardens & Garden of Fine arts Kyoto" on April 23rd (Sat.) and had 17 participants including 9 international students and 8 local students. The purpose of this event was that international students and local students become friends. International students from various countries such as China, South Korea, America, Spain, and Thailand participated in this event.
First of all, we tried to introduce ourselves with an ice break activity. We found group members who had the same animal's illustrations on the back of name tags by mimicking the voice of animals. Participants were able to introduce ourselves to many people and enjoy interaction. Then, we did scavenger hunt with group members. We walked around one of the largest greenhouses in Japan that you can see the tropical plants in the world. And in Garden of Fine arts Kyoto, we saw world masterpieces. Participants completed all missions created by SIED. In the group photos, the smiles of the participants were impressive. After this event, we were happy to see participants had great conversations.
We received the voice from participants, "It was really exciting!" and "It was very good experience to interact with international students.
SIED will be hosting lots of events that you can make wonderful encounters and connections under COVID-19 infection prevention. We look forward to seeing you soon!
