SIED event "PET WOOD" was held on May 25th (Wed.) at the International Community Lounge (Kyotanabe Campus).
This event is based on "PET ROCK", which was a fad in the United States in the 1970s. You decorate a rock and take care of it as if it was your pet. It’s called PET ROCK, and participants experienced it.
In this event, we used small egg-shaped woods instead of stones, and participants decorated them to create their own "pet”.
In addition to eyes and mouths, participants added hair, drew ears, and used other interesting ideas to create their own unique “pet”.
After creating their pets, participants filled out a pedigree form for each pet with its name, date of birth, favorite food, etc., and introduced their pets to each other.
At the end of the event, all participants played sugoroku using their pets as frames.
The sugoroku consisted of squares with questions which is related to their pets, such as "Tell us what is attractive about your pet" and "Where would you like to go with your pet?”. The goal of the game was to reach the goal while answering the questions on the squares where they stopped.
It was a fun event, and participants interacted with each other and their pets.
SIED will continue to thoroughly implement measures to prevent infection with the COVID-19 and plan various international exchange events, including face-to-face events!
