Updated Jun. 16, 2022
Hello, this is SIED!

On Monday 13th June 2022, the SIED event "Let's make "oshi" goods - goods of your favorite idols and anime characters" was held in the International Community Lounge. A total of five people (two international students and three local students) took part in the event!

“Oshi” is Japanese slang that means your favorite person like an idol, anime character or celebrity.
The activities for idols or anime characters of fan are called "oshi wo ouen suru(supporting oshi)", and the abbreviation of its word is "oshi katsu". Among them, this time everyone experienced one of the "oshi katsu"- making oshi goods!

Participants talked about their oshi while making oshi glass which had the name of their oshi and decoration case that they can put picture of their oshi, and they were popular on social medias last year.
The event had a homely atmosphere during the event, and international exchange deepened as participants showed pictures of their oshi and taught each other about famous celebrities in countries of international students. Some participants had the same oshi, and they got along. Knowing each other's oshi made the participants closer quickly, and it was great to see them working together to create oshi goods. They chose the colors and stickers thinking about their oshi , and completed their own oshi goods with their love and originality! Participants took home the oshi goods they created. We hope that they will enjoy their oshi katsu at home as well♪

After the event, "It was fun to interact with international and other local students! " "I was happy to be able to introduce my oshi!" The staff are very happy to hear these comments. We are glad that we were able to provide an opportunity for people to get to know each other through this event.

SIED will continue to take thorough measures to prevent new coronavirus infection and plan various international exchange events. We look forward to your participation !
