Report: "Making Japanese Fabric Flower 2" (presented by SIED)

Updated Jul. 1, 2022
Hello, this is SIED!

On June 22 (Wed.), we held a SIED event " Making Japanese Fabric Flower 2" at International Community Lounge, and a total of 10 people, including 6 international students and 4 local students, participated in the event!
The students who participated in this event came from a wide variety of countries, so they enjoyed conversations in English, Chinese, and Japanese.

This second tsumamizaiku event was also exciting as well as the last one! First, participants introduced each other and talked about their favorite flowers. After that, we gave quizzes about the names of flowers and types of fabrics to participants to ease the students' minds and also learned how to make tsumamizaiku!
In this event, we prepared fabrics with colors and patterns we didn't have in the first tsumamizaiku event, so students who already participated in the first one also enjoyed choosing them. In addition, we showed how to make tsumamizaiku of a sun flower for upcoming summer. This was also what we didn't have in the first one. Making a sun flower was a little bit complicated, but participants found the easier ways to make and taught each other them to complete it.
Smiles of participants were impressive just like flowers they made, and we were happy to see them!

SIED will continue to hold events where everyone can enjoy international exchange while making sure appropriate infection prevention measures are taken, so we look forward to seeing you at these events.
