Updated Dec. 19, 2022
Hello! We're SIED!

On Saturday, November 12th, SIED event "FUTSAL SIED CUP" was held at Futsal Square Kyoto Minami. 8 international students and 6 local students participated in this event. As WORLD CUP would be held this year, we organized this event and lots of big fans of soccer participated! They talked about their favorite player and countries they were supporting. Also, international students introduced sports people in Japan are not familiar with, so local students were so interested in them.

Now let's kick off! The participants were divided into three teams, and after introducing themselves in each team, they played futsal. SIED CUP was designated to facilitate international exchange not to play futsal. Some participants played futsal for the first time, so other students taught how to kick a ball and rules of futsal. They also praised other players a lot. It was such a clam and peaceful time during games. During the break, the teams enjoyed quizzes about soccer and FIFA WORLD CUP and Crossbar Challenge. Everyone tried to find correct answers very hard and kick a ball to hit it on the crossbar. It was heating up just like a soccer game!
In FIFA WORLD CUP, games are harsh but participants made new friends regardless of teams and nationalities in SIED CUP.

After the event, participants exchanged contact information, and went out together to eat dinner in the evening. All the staff are very happy to hear such positive comments from the participants as "I'm glad I played futsal with international students." and "I want more sports events". Thank you to everyone who participated!
SIED will continue to plan various international exchange events with a focus on preventing COVID-19 infection. We are looking forward to your participation ♪
