Report: “Speak Up! in 2022” (presented by SIED)

Updated Feb. 2, 2023
We held "Speak Up!" events in the spring and fall semester in 2022.

In the fall semester, we invited 2 volunteers of international students for these events so that participants enjoyed them more than last semester.

We had a topic to talk about for each event and enjoyed conversation in both Japanese and English.
We have learned about various cultures and histories through chatting.
This semester’s topic was the following:
・About bread in each country.
・When you were in high school, how did you spend your time?
・What dinner did you have?
・Which country have you visited?
・What is your favorite part of your hometown?
・What hot food do you recommend in winter?
・What was your New Year's resolution? Did you achieve your goals?
・What is your plan for Christmas?
・How did you spend your New Year's holiday?
We had conversations about not only this topic but also others.
Thank you to everyone who participated!

The goal of this event is to facilitate international exchange through chatting beyond grade, faculty, and nationality.

We have some information on Instagram. Please follow our Instagram account. @doshisha_sied

SIED will continue to hold many events where you can interact internationally and make wonderful encounters under COVID-19 infection prevention. We look forward to your participation.
