Report: "Let’s DIY Chinese Peking Opera face!" (presented by SIED)

Updated May 17, 2023
Hello, we're SIED!

We held a SIED event " Let’s DIY Chinese Peking Opera face! " on Monday, December 19th at International Community Lounge on Imadegawa campus.
We had a total of 7 participants, 5 international students and 2 local students!

At the beginning of the event, participants played Newspaper Tower game as an ice breaker with their teammates. In this game, the team that make the highest newspaper tower in the limited time wins. Everyone tried to make the highest tower, but they enjoyed making it together.
After the ice breaker, SIED staff introduced about the history of Peking Opera and everyone painted their own Chinese Peking Opera masks. It was difficult for participants to draw patterns they want, but we enjoyed taking lots of pictures of painted masks on our faces together after they finished painting. Everyone praised each other's masks, so the atmosphere was peaceful.

Participants told "I learned about Chinese Opera for the first time!", "We made new friends through painting a mask!" to us, and it made us happy.

SIED will hold many events you can interact internationally and make wonderful encounters. We look forward to your participation♪
