Report: "Lunch Talk in Shikokan 2" (presented by SIED)

Updated May 22, 2023
Hello, we’re SIED!

On January 18th (Wed.), Lunch Talk in Shikokan 2 was held!
This time, it was “Oshogatsu version” that we decorated the classroom with a kite, calligraphies and Fukuwarai.

A total of 31 people, including 15 international students and 16 local students, participated on the day.
To our surprise, almost half of them came to SIED event for the first time!
International students learned how to spend new year vacation in Japan and enjoyed seeing Japanese calligraphies.
Local students also asked questions about the way international students spend new year days.
Some participants enjoyed playing Fukuwarai together.
All tables were so lively that we were so happy to see the participants making new friends through Lunch Talk.

At the end, we gave Nengajo, Japanese new year postcard, to everyone as a present.
I hope it deepen the understanding toward the Japanese culture.

We appreciate both those who participated for the first time and those who regularly participate in our event for coming to this event.

We look forward to seeing you again next semester!
