Hello, we are SIED!
On June18th(Sun.) at Otabe Honkan in Minami-ku, Kyoto, SIED event "Namayatsuhashi Workshop” was held. 23 students (11 international students and 12 local students) participated in this event. We enjoyed international exchange while making the famous Kyoto sweets "Namayatsuhashi".
After participants learned the procedure of production of Namayatsuhashi in a factory tour at the Otabe Honkan, they started making their own Namayatsuhashi. They struggled with the kneading of the dough and measure the amount of sugar, which is the key to make it, but they were able to make it well by helping each other. They seemed to be satisfied with their own Namayatsuhashi.
SIED will continue to plan various international exchange events. We are looking forward to your participation.
