"Bootiful Kyoto -ghost stories of the world-" (SIED Event)

Updated Oct. 14, 2021
There are various ghost stories exist in Kyoto.
Are there any scary stories have been passed down from generation to generation in your hometown?

In this event, we are going to visit Seimei Jinja Shrine and Ichijyo-Modoribashi Bridge near the University to learn about some of mystical folklore in Kyoto. Abe no Seimei, known as a famous "Onmyōji" in Japan, is enshrined in Seimei Jinja Shrine, and it is said that we will receive blessing given by a mystical spirit by praying at the shrine. Ichijyo-Modoribashi Bridge has various legendary stories, and some of them are terrifying...
Furthermore, this time, the chief priest of Seimei Jinja Shrine is going to give us a talk—don’t miss out on this great opportunity!

Then, we are going to share hometown’s horror stories with each other at the University.
We hope this event will become a good start of intercultural exchanges and new friendships!

The pre-registration is required to join this event. (Participants will be
picked by lot.)
