【App. Period Extended!】"Kite-flying Contest" (SIED Event)

Updated Nov. 18, 2021
Application Period Extended!

On Dec. 14th (Tue.), we will hold a SIED event "Kite-flying Contest"!

In Japan, a winter tradition in January is kite flying, and in December, it is the "kanji of the year". The "Kanji of the year" is an initiative to express the social conditions of the year in one Japanese character. Inspired by these events, this time, we have come up with a plan that merges the seasonal traditions of December and January! How about flying a kite—with "kanji of the year (or one word in your favorite language" written on it in Indian ink—high in the sky?

First, we are going to make our kites together on Imadegawa campus. Write one Japanese character presumed to be the "kanji of the year" (or one word in your favorite language) in Indian ink on a sheet of writing paper for calligraphy, and paste it on your kite. Then, we move to Kamogawa Park Izumojibashi Athletic Ground and launch our kites into the sky in Kyoto!

Together let’s fly a kite like a child under the crisp clear winter sky! Applications now open!!

The pre-registration is required to join this event. (Participants will be
picked by lot.)
Please go to "Kite-flying Contest"registration form here.

For more details, please see the description below and the "Kite-flying Contest" Flyer"PDF attachment.
Looking forward to your application!
