On June 7th (Wed.), 2017, SIED held “Japanese Art Workshop ~Calligraphy~” at the International Community Lounge on Kyotanabe campus.
In this event, participants experienced Japanese culture by learning and trying Japanese calligraphy.
We invited members of the university’s official calligraphy club to talk about various aspects of the art such as its history and tip on how to write well. They also had a writing demonstration in which each member wrote a same letter using different styles and fonts. Through the art of letters and writing, the participants deepened their knowledge and understanding toward Japanese culture.
SIED hosts many kinds of events throughout the semester, so please join us!
