On July 10th (Mon.) during the third period, SIED hosted “News Watch” at the International Community Lounge on Kyotanabe campus. “News Watch” aims to expand one’s perspective by watching news from around the world and exchanging thoughts and opinions with others in English and Japanese.
For this event, the participants watched the news about space debris and had discussion about space. They were surprised to learn that a tiniest piece of debris can severely damage satellites and astronauts. After discussing the news, they went on to talk about what it would be like to live under zero gravity. It was impressive to see them stay back and talk to each other even after the event.
SIED will host many interesting intercultural events throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you soon!
