On June 13th (Tue.), SIED hosted “Firefly Watching” and 16 students including international students from six different countries visited the Philosopher’s Path.
The Philosopher’s Path is a famous spot for fireflies watching and has connection to Doshisha students as Joseph Neesima and his wife Yae are buried near the path. The participants walked down from the north end to the south end of the path and watched fireflies.
Walking through the quiet path, whispering to one another, and seeing magical fireflies, the participants enjoyed the relaxed time out of their busy daily life. It was a first time seeing fireflies for some that they were very much amazed by the beauty of nature.
SIED hosts various events throughout the year for you to experience cultures of different countries. We look forward to your participation in the future!
