SIED held “Let’s Learn Languages of the World! -Thai-” on May 10th during lunch time at the International Community Lounge (Kyotanabe campus).
This event aims to learn the language and culture of foreign country from international students, to introduce themselves in the language and to be able to write their names in the language of the country. We held this event several times last semester, and this time, we chose “Thai” as the topic. In the event, we welcomed an international student from Thailand. Participants learned how to pronounce Thai language and tried to write their own names in Thai alphabet. Some students asked about the details of Thai culture. Although it was a short time, participants actively communicated one another. We hope that this event helped participants to make new friends and deepen their interests toward Thai culture.
SIED will continue to hold various kinds of events that everyone can enjoy. We look forward to your future participation!
