Report: "【Lunch Talk Special!】 The Secret of Tapioca Milk Tea" (presented by SIED)

Updated May 24, 2018
On May 16th, SIED held an event “【Lunch Talk Special!】 The Secret of Tapioca Milk Tea” at the International Community Lounge on Imadegawa Campus. 35 students including 19 international students joined this event.
In this event, a Taiwanese student gave us a presentation about the history of tapioca milk tea (bubble tea), the difference between Japanese tapioca and Taiwanese one and some popular shops in Taiwan. After listening the presentation, participants enjoyed lunch talk with SIED original tapioca milk tea.
Tapioca milk tea is very popular in Japan today. However, it seems that few people known about its origin and history. Thanks to the interesting presentation by Taiwanese staff, the event was held in a relaxed atmosphere from start to finish. SIED original tapioca milk tea was very popular among the participants. One student said “tapioca was chewy, and so good!”
SIED hosts many interesting events that you can experience not only Japanese cultures but also cultures of other countries. We look forward to seeing you all!
