On October 14th (Sun), SIED hosted “Washi Workshop -Japanese Paper Making-” in Washi Club, Marutamachi. This event was organized under the aim of deepening international exchange between local students and international students through making Japanese paper. At first, we introduced ourselves and did a simple icebreak. After that, the participants saw the demonstration of Japanese paper making and started making their own washi. Using paints, participants drew their favorite pictures and letters on the paper they made. While talking about what to draw, participants enjoyed interacting. Finally, they were able to make washi with their original design. Many participants told the SIED staff that they could really enjoy the event.
