On November 16th (Fri), SIED held an event “International Cooking Class in Russia-Chiburekki-“at the Amherst Guest House on Imadegawa campus. We welcomed 24 students including 11 international students.
In this event, one of the SIED staff who knows about Russia very well made a presentation about Chiburekki including instruction of Russian culture and famous foods. Chiburekki is a popular Russian deep fried snack; wrapping minced meat with the pie dough. Since it was the first time making Russian foods for almost all participants, they could have new experiences while interacting with each other. Some participants surprised us by making Chiburekki perfectly in the process of rolling out a dough and mixing ingredients together. After the event, participants gave SIED staff some comments such as “It was a good opportunity to chat with international students!” or “I was able to enjoy cooking thanks to SIED staff”.
We hope that all participants could capture the opportunity to promote their international exchange through this event. SIED hold events not only making cuisine in the world but also camp, culture experiences and so on. We provide the event information on this website, official Facebook, Twitter and LINE@. We look forward to seeing you in our future events!
