SIED event “Wagashi KITCHEN Kuridaifuku” was held in Imadegawa International Community Lounge on Friday, November 9th. 22students including 18 international students joined the event.
In the event, SIED staff introduced Daifuku’s history and some secret spots of autumn leaves in Kyoto first. After that, participants tried making daifuku wrapped in chestnuts, one of popular autumn food in Japan. (“Kuri” means chestnuts in Japanese.) Although some participants struggled with wrapping chestnuts and anko with the dough smoothly, they cooperated with each other and made tasty kuridaifuku. We tasted fresh kuridaifuku with hot green tea. We hope this event allowed everyone to have a wonderful time, learn and enjoy Japanese sweets culture.
SIED will plan more fascinating events in the future. If you are interested in understanding different culture, or communicating with local students, Please feel free to join us!
