On December 11th (Tue), SIED hosted “Let’s try Character Bento!” at the Faculty lounge LIBRE on Kyotanabe campus. “Character Bento (Charaben)” is a lunchbox where the food is arranged to look like cute characters.
In the event, first, we had a short discussion to compare with each country’s lunch culture. For example, in Morocco, they eat rice as a salad. It’s surprising for us, isn’t it?
After that, participants made Charaben with scrambled egg, chicken flake, salmon flake and cheese. Although they were sometimes struggling to make a small character parts, they looked enjoy making their original and unique bento. During tasting the bento, participants had a nice chat and interacted with one another.
SIED organizes various events where you can experience culture of different countries. If you are interested in international exchange or intercultural understanding, please participate in by all means. We look forward to seeing you all at our events!
