On December 18th (Tuesday), SIED hosted “Speak Up! Special ~ What's it like in Amherst College, America?~” at the International Community Lounge in Kyotanabe Campus. This event was organized to allow students to learn about America`s Amherst College and its school life.
In this event, Antonella Dominguez, the 58th Amherst Fellow, talked about Amherst College and her college life in English. With easy-to-understand English and photos taken by herself, Ms. Antonella introduced the various kinds of facilities in and around Amherst College, as well as her most memorable moments of her school life. After the presentation, participants were given the opportunity to speak with Ms. Antonella, whether it was wanting to know more about American college life and culture or practicing their English language skill through conversation. Overall, the participants and Ms. Antonella had an enjoyable time.
Every Tuesday, from 1.10pm to 2.40pm, Ms. Antonella will be in the International Community Lounge. Please feel free to come and have a chat with her. Additionally, SIED is also hosting “Speak Up!” in the International Community Lounge every Tuesday from 12.30pm to 1pm until January 8th, where you can talk with other local and international students over lunch.
