SIED hosted “SIED Sports Festival” at Imadegawa ground in Kyoto Imperial Palace on Saturday, May 25th. 27 students including 11 international students joined the event.
This event aims to experience Japanese school style sports festival and promote intercultural exchange beyond language difference.
Starting with radio exercise, we played obstacle race, scavenger hunt, jumping rope and relay. Many local students said “each game reminds me of my childhood.” On the other hand, some international students had never played these games, so they might have been a little surprised. We had a great time because all the teammates cooperated with each other and worked hard.
Although this event was held in hot weather, all participants and SIED staff were fine throughout the event! We hope the event helped participants get more interested in the Japanese culture and international interaction.
SIED will host several other events in this semester. Don’t miss it!
