Report: “GEAR -Invitation to a nonverbal performance!!-” (presented by SIED)

Updated Jul. 8, 2019
On Sunday June 30th, SIED hosted "GEAR -Invitation to a nonverbal performance!!-" and 19 students, including 8 international students took part in the event.
"GEAR" is a wonderful performance which a whole story progresses nonverbally originated in Kyoto. It appeared that both of local and international students laughed a lot and were moved to tear up in the same scenes. We were completely glued to the world of “GEAR”, feeling a sense of unity.
After the amazing performance, we spent time having activities and sharing our thoughts. Throughout the two activities intended to have communication without any languages, we were able to realize not merely how much we rely on language in our daily lives, but that language doesn't always convey a whole thing correctly. Besides, everybody enjoyed expressing whatever we felt about the performance mutually.
Although we are likely to overthink international interaction, we really hope all participants to have more intercultural communications overcoming language barriers though this experience.
SIED is also going to host interesting events in the next semester! We are looking forward to seeing you in our future events!!
