SIED hosted “Lunch Talk” during lunchtime on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the 2019 spring and fall semester at the International Community Lounge on Imadegawa campus.
“Lunch Talk” is one of our most popular events where students talk in four languages-English, Korean, Chinese and Japanese- or talk about cultures and customs of the countries in which these languages are spoken. As a place for casual intercultural exchange, both local and international students actively participated in the event.
In the fall semester, we held “New Year’s Special Lunch Talk”. Participants were invited to experience traditional games and toys related to Japanese New Year’s, such as Daruma-otoshi, Fuku-Warai, and Omikuji (fortune telling slips).
Some international students joined the event every week, and they became friends with a lot of local students. SIED will host “Lunch Talk” in the next semester again. We hope this event will give you a chance to make new friends! We look forward to your future participation!
