On the 4th period of December 8th Wed., we held an event “Let’s make your own name frame!!”. In this event, participants made their own name frame through Japanese traditional culture, calligraphy and “tsumami”.
First, participants made “tsumami”, which is flower shaped made by folding small square fabric. They were confused with complicated work using tweezers at the beginning, but they got used to it and eventually were able to create beautiful and colorful flowers.
Next, participants wrote down their names and favorite “kanji” using brush and ink. Although most of the participants used brush for the first time in a long time, all of their calligraphy work were beautiful.
Combining these two works on the photo frame, wonderful name frame is completed! Participants enjoyed the event through having conversation and showing their frame to each other.
SIED offers various kinds of events involving international interaction in and out the university, taking preventive measures against COVID-19. We are looking forward to your participation!
